    French government demands answers over streamer’s death

    The French authorities has launched an investigation into the loss of life of on-line persona Raphaël Graven, often called “Jean Pormanove”, who died in his sleep aged 46.

    The streamer had been livestreaming on the platform Kick previous to his loss of life according to French media reports.

    France’s digital affairs and synthetic intelligence (AI) minister Clara Chappaz wrote in a post on X on Tuesday Pormanove had been “humiliated” and “mistreated” throughout streams on the platform for months, and mentioned an inquiry into his loss of life was underway.

    A Kick spokesperson mentioned the corporate was “urgently reviewing” circumstances across the streamer’s loss of life and dealing with stakeholders to analyze it.

    “We’re deeply saddened by the lack of Jean Pormanove and prolong our condolences to his household, buddies and neighborhood,” they instructed the BBC.

    The spokesperson mentioned the platform’s neighborhood pointers have been “designed to guard creators” and mentioned Kick is “dedicated to upholding these requirements throughout our platform”.

    Mr Graven had amassed a whole lot of 1000’s of followers throughout his numerous social media accounts.
