It’s time to find out who really is the most competitive player at family game night. Mattel is putting $50,000 up for grabs at its inaugural UNO Championship.

The competition will bring top UNO players to Los Angeles on Nov. 11 to battle for the grand prize, with a championship game happening later at a yet-to-be-announced location.

To participate, all aspiring contestants need to register through the official championship website and then qualify via the UNO Championship Series Tournament qualifiers, with options available both online and in-person.

If you want to play in person, you can catch a game in Kissimmee, Florida on Oct. 3, in Chicago on Oct. 10, and in El Segundo, California on Oct. 17. Only 150 players are allowed to participate, with the selection being on a first-come, first-served basis. Winners from each in-person tournament will win a spot to compete in Los Angeles later this fall.

Those who opt for online versions may enter the weekly free qualifying tournaments held in the UNO! Mobile app from Aug. 31 through Sept. 27. To qualify for the qualifying tournaments, though, participants will need at least 60 in-game trophies, and may play up to 20 games per week during the qualifying season.

All participants are also required to be at least 18 years old and legal residents of the US.

The championship follows a series of in-person activations from the brand in a way to keep the legacy card game culturally relevant. In 2025, UNO rolled out the UNO Social Club, a multicity campaign bringing UNO tournaments to bars and venues across the country.
